Notes from 2012 CCIM Commercial Real Estate Outlook

If you had to pick just one economic outlook to go to then this is the one.  Each year the program gives a complete overview of the Miami / South Florida Market.

The program ran from 8:30am to Noon with 8 speakers.  They were:

Historical Overview:  Diane Gilbert (pinch hitting for Mike “Mad Dog” Cannon), Integra Realty Resources

Industrial:  Mike Silver, CBRE

Retail:  Gary Ralston, Coldwell Banker

Investment Environment:  Tere Blanca, Blanca Commercial

Office:  Diana Parker, Cushman & Wakefield

Capital Markets:  Manny de Zarraga, HFF

Florida Legislative: John Sebree, Florida Realtors

Economic Outlook:  Lawrence Yun, Florida Realtors

Takeaway:  Miami is coming out of the downturn quicker than other cities due to international trade and foreign investment.  However, to maintain our competitive advantage we better get involved in our local government and educate our workforce.
